Lidow Archive Edit:

Black Designers Who Shaped Fashion History

Throughout history, Black designers have been overlooked. In order to succeed in a predominantly white industry that favors Eurocentric ideals, Black visionaries have entered these spaces and created positions that never existed and exceeded the expectations placed against them. In honor of Black History Month we want to showcase and celebrate the achievements of these pioneers of change and honor their couture creations in true LIDOW ARCHIVE fashion. This curated edit features legendary and historically significant designs from: B Michael, Byron Lars, Stephen Burrows, Tracy Reese, Alvin Bell and Scott Barrie. Comprised of statement-making skirt suits, tailored jackets with exaggerated details in vivacious prints, body-skimming dresses and sublime hats fit for a Queen. This curated collection pays tribute to the Black designers whose contributions and legacies have shaped the course of fashion history.
